Deborah Grogan - Centre Director

My name is Deborah Grogan and I am from a city called Dundee in Scotland, United Kingdom. I moved to Canberra on the 1st January 2015 to work with Canberra Early Learning and haven't looked back.  I live here with my husband, Kenny.

In the UK I undertook many different studies to further my knowledge and professional development, some of which I studied are the Diploma in Childcare and Education and Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Practices, I also have qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety and Office Management.  I take great pleasure in studying and absorbing new knowledge and am always looking for new approaches to extend my learning.

I have worked in Early Childhood Education for over 16 years and it has to be said that I have a huge passion for this field and my work.  Where else do you get to go to work in the morning and you are greeted with warm smiles and cuddles and have the opportunity to observe each young person learn, develop and grow.  I am devoted to delivering excellence in every part of early years learning and care and believe that families and educators must work together to support this outcome.  I have a strong accordance with Canberra Early Learning Values and aspire to achieve these each and every day.

Mary Jane

"Hi I'm Mary Jane. With Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and  studying Early Childhood Education and Care. I have been working as childcare educator for more than 5 years. I have worked in the Preschool room most of my working experience and also in Nursery and Toddler room. I am married with two teenage sons. I believe that children must be taught how to think and not what to think. My goal as early childhood educator is to activate the child's own natural desire to learn."

"Hello, my name is Shuang, I came from China and I've been in Australia for 6 years. I finished my Diploma in Melbourne 3 years ago and came to Canberra in late 2012. I like reading and walking in my spare time.

As a child care educator, I respect children's rights as human beings and believe that children learn through play with adults' facilitation.

Quote that I like, "Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn."--Benjamin Franklin."

My name is Minji. I'm a diploma trained educator. I believe the first five years of a child's life are critical on impacting on a range of outcomes right through life. More than anything else, I believe the relationship with children shape the way the children learn and grow. I value the quality time I spend with children to form positive relationships and enhance their learning. I love doing Art and craft activities, reading books and music activities with children.

In my own time, I love travelling around the world to experience and explore different culture and see all the beautiful nature. Also, I like reading books that gives me different perspectives of all the things around me and experiences that I could indirectly experience.

Hello, my name Dahye a.k.a. 'Dada.' I am from South Korea. I have a business degree in my country. I came to Australia to study child care right after I finish my degree. I started working at Yerrabi in February 2015.

There are two things I love most in this world that is travelling and being with children. Well three really, if you include eating I have been everywhere and I will continue to be 'everywhere' until I can no longer do it. I grew up with children as my mother used to run a family day care in my country. She has inspired me to join this trade.

I love being with children. Watching them grow right before my eyes gives me joy. It is seeing life as it happens and this is a privilege that I am not giving up anytime soon. I am a people person and I enjoy small talks, so feel free to say 'hi' to me anytime.
