Canberra Early Learning Services work in partnership with families and communities to achieve collaborative relationships through active communication and consultation.

At Canberra Early Learning we recognise the family as the first and primary educators of their children, we actively work in partnership with families creating respectiful and supporting relationships. Our educators will work actively with you to establish effective communication between your family and the service. Our curriculum is based on children’s interests and we believe parents, families’ carers and guardians are able to provide valuable information about children’s interests, strengths and abilities. We have a comprehensive Parent’s Handbook containing most information to assist you in our policies and procedures at Canberra Early Learning.

We use other means to communicate with you about your child:

  • We value families goals and aspirations for their children and so we ask you to fill in our aspiration sheets upon enrolment
  • Schedule regular Parent/Educator meetings
  • Encourage Parents to write a learning story about their child that is –a story from home outlining their child’s current interests, new challenges, new things they may have learnt.
  • We love hearing about important family holidays or events
  • encourage Parent partnership and participation – Parent s are invited to join us in the service, come along on an excursion with us, read with us, participate in a art or craft activity.
  • We want to further understand and respect family’s beliefs and cultural diversity, so share with us how we can incorporate your values and beliefs into your child's day.

Of course, we love to catch up with you informally on a daily basis and we want to hear  how you are and we love sharing how your child’s day went.
